This next-level Peanut Butter and Jelly Frosting is made from homemade peanut butter and jelly nut butter. We used it to frost peanut butter blondies, but it goes well on just about any dessert (or your spoon).
If you have not made homemade peanut butter, you need to. It will make your life 10x better than it was before you did. And it’s unbelievably easy. When I first heard, I couldn’t believe it. You literally just blend peanuts in a food processor and they turn into peanut butter.
And the possibilities are endless! You can: use different nuts, honey roasted nuts, add spices, extracts, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, different oils, mixes of nuts, sweeteners.
Go crazy! The world is your oyster! Sandwiches will never be the same. Snacking will never be the same. Let’s face it, the world will never be the same. And if that thought stresses you out a little, then grab a spoonful of peanut butter and stress-eat it.
When we first developed the recipe for this Peanut Butter and Jelly Frosting, we used an amazing nut mix from Emerald called Peanut Butter and Jelly Sweet & Salty Mixed Nuts. They’ve since been discontinued 😥 which is a real shame. So now we recommend mixing one part Emerald Raspberry Glazed Almonds with one part honey roasted peanuts.
Just chuck them all in a food processor and blend until they reach a smooth, spreadable consistency. You’re going to want to eat that mixture plain, but we’re saving it for Peanut Butter and Jelly Frosting.
So this Peanut Butter and Jelly Frosting is basically a complete peanut butter and jelly in one spoonable substance. It’s magical and will be a complete game-changer. Especially in baking. Specifically, in frosting-making.
I made Peanut Butter and Jelly Frosting with it and would gladly have eaten it with a spoon. But I controlled myself and used it to frost these peanut butter blondies, and they were delicious. A yummy peanut-butter explosion of flavor in your mouth.
PB&J is so underdone. I had it every day as a kid, and now get it only a few times a year. I need more PB&J in my life. And this frosting if the perfect way to get it.
You can frost brownies and make cookie sandwiches and frost an amazing cake (or two, or twelve). The possibilities are endless. You could even switch up the nut butters. But first, I think you should make it with this kind.
What’s your favorite kind of nut butter/ways that you change it up?
